Artak Beglaryan, Adviser to the State Minister of Artsakh, received the representatives of Hanganak NGO

This is the third meeting with Artak Beglaryan in 2022, apart from telephone conversations, during which various issues were discussed, the most important priority of which is the provision of state sponsorship in 2023 fiscal year.

According to the agreement, on November 8, Hanganak NGO sent an official letter to the NKR government with a request to receive financial support in 2023. The letter also included Elderly Project Proposal for 2023 and the jubilee booklet, published in honor of the organization’s 15th anniversary. The organization is proud of its achievements and does not miss the opportunity to make them public and announce that if you live in Artsakh, you are alone and need help, the doors of Hanganak are always open to you.

The main topic of the meeting was the State support. It was noted that this is not the first case when a non-governmental organization starts its activity through grants, but having a successful multi-year activity, it also receives state sponsorship. In particular, the example of Hand in Hand organization was mentioned. Artak Beglaryan said that it is a good example and very likely that the Elderly Project of Hanganak NGO will also receive state support as a very competitive project.

The president of “Hanganak” NGO Gohar Hovhannisyan presented the latest developments and achievements of the Elderly Project. She also noted that the organization has extensive experience in prevention and treatment of diseases in the elderly, therefore in the prevention of disability, which not only improves the quality of life of the elderly, but also for the state eases the social burden related to the disability.

Highly appreciating the investments made by the Armenian Women’s Welfare Association over 18 years, which have really changed the lives of the beneficiaries, Gohar Hovhannisyan noted that, however, state support is important for the sustainability of the project. The Armenian Women’s Welfare Association has been experiencing financial difficulties in recent years because of Covid-19, and therefore cannot fully fund the Elderly Project. So, the organization is looking for new sources of funding, of which the priority is given to the state sponsorship.

At the end of the meeting, Artak Beglaryan stated that he would also try to find other sponsors, as any support is very important for the organization.
