Hanganak NGO has made friends with the Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Artsakh Republic for years. Although, we started our friendship with Artak Beglaryan when he was still the press secretary of the Prime Minister of the Artsakh Republic. In 2014, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the organization, we had the opportunity to meet and that meeting became crucial: we were meant to be friends for good. We have turned to him many times with the most incredible requests, from providing vehicles to asking for advice on the place to entertain the beneficiaries in nature. This relationship is warm, friendly and sincere without any formalities. Our meetings may be seldom but warm and cozy as if we last talked the day before.
In 2018, when Artak Beglaryan was still the Human Rights Defender of the Artsakh Republic, we communicated more often on business. In 2019, on the 15th anniversary of the organization, we received a Letter of Gratitude from the office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh.
Our friendship with Artak Beglaryan continues regardless of the position he holds, it has evolved taking root in the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh. That is why we call it a tradition.
We have already told about the meeting of the Human Rights Defender of RA with the elderly beneficiaries displaced from Shushi, Hadrut and Martuni regions in the office of Hanganak NGO on September 6. It was a very warm meeting. The beneficiaries were asking questions hoping to get answers. They raised also the question of heating for the winter months. The Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan mentioned the possibility of providing firewood. This was not just a promise. The other day we received a call from the Ombudsman’s office asking for the list of beneficiaries who use firewood for heating. We gladly provided the list. This was the first step in fulfilling the Ombudsman’s promises. We are sure that other issues will also be resolved during our next meeting.
