On November 10th, the training on Life Style Guidelines to Reduce Your Risk of Brain Decline and Improve Your Brain Health was held within the frame of the Brain Health Armenia Project implemented by the Alzheimer’s Care Armenia.
Dr. Jane Mahakian, the founder and president of the Alzheimer’s Care Armenia, frequently organizes similar trainings on the Zoom platform. Usually, Dr. Mahakian invites highly qualified specialists from the United States who also have extensive teaching experience. They share their professional experience and knowledge with Armenian specialists. This time the presenter was Flora Wiegers of Armenian origin, a Brain Longevity Specialist certified by the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation.
Jane Mahakian, being also the head of the training courses for the Hanganak NGO medical staff, kindly invited Hanganak to participate in the training.
During the hour-long lecture, the participants got acquainted with the risks that can worsen the course of Alzheimer’s disease. However, more attention was paid to the all possible measures for stimulating brain activity. In this regard, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle as the most effective way was discussed in detail. Particularly, it was discussed the importance of physical activity, healthy diet, and the importance to eliminate unhealthy food and habits.
At the end, the participants asked the professor the questions they were concerned about.
In general, it was very interesting and informative training, which aroused great interest among the participants. The need for such lectures for the beneficiaries was discussed separately with Dr. Jane Mahakian.
