The interview took place in April 2021.
Nera was born on November 5th, 1941 in the village of Avetaranots, Askeran region. Her father was a carpenter and her mother was a housewife. There were 7 children growing up in the family: 2 boys and 5 girls. Nera was the fourth child. After graduating from secondary school, she moved to Baku to her sister place. There she attended sewing and tailoring courses and, having received a tailoring qualification, worked in a garment factory in Baku.
In 1969 she got married and moved to Stepanakert. But in a couple of years they divorced without having children together. Although Nera did not live with her husband for a long time, she still speaks with love and respect about him and her relatives, her husband’s children (from her second marriage), and sadly informed us that her husband’s son had recently died of a COVID-19 in Russia. By the way, Nera enjoys the love and respect of relatives, friends, neighbors and all those who know her.
After moving to Stepanakert in 1969, Nera started working at the hospital attached to the Stepanakert Silk Factory. Later, in 1971 she moved to Artsakhpress, where she worked for about 36 years, and in 2007 she got retired. Her pension is 58,300 AMD.
Nera joined Hanganak in 2009. She is very pleased with her nurse Marcela Sargsyan. Nera does visit the City Policlinic hardly ever. She has gallbladder and stomach problems and the corresponding medicines: Mezim forte N20, Senadexin N40, Senna tea N40 she receives from Hanganak, which is delivered to her by her nurse Marcela.
The food provided by Hanganak is sufficient for the whole month.
She lives in a three-room apartment left to her by her late husband. She uses wood for heating in winter time. The bill is paid by the heating compensation provided by Hanganak and her pension.
She expresses her deep gratitude to the benefactors, the Hanganak administration and all the staff.
