On March 16, the AWWA / Hanganak financial meeting took place via Zoom, according to the schedule. However, the discussion of the budget stepped into the background, given the political, military and social issues, as well as the humanitarian crisis that has rocked Artsakh over the past week.
The situation of the people of Artsakh conditioned by the gas pipeline failure and unfavorable weather conditions was mainly discussed, in particular, the heating possibilities of the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries who use firewood or electricity for heating are relatively less affected, but a significant part of the beneficiaries, as well as the entire staff of the organization, use natural gas and therefore are not able to heat the apartments enough, not to mention hot water.
The situation at the border remains tense. The enemy resorts to provocations, constantly firing at peaceful areas. In some border villages, women and children were temporarily evacuated for security reasons.
Beneficiaries visit the office to get their medicine, be examined or just chat with the staff. All the functions of the elderly program are performed in a normal rhythm. The food has already been ordered, but is delayed due to impassable roads. The supply of food will probably start next Monday.
Media announced that the Azerbaijani side has started repairing the gas pipeline. They expressed hope that the gas supply to Artsakh will be restored in the coming days.
The 2022 budget, discussed during the previous meetings, was adopted unanimously by the participants.
