Back in February, the number of our beneficiaries in the Lori region reached 21. In January and February, Hanganak provided financial assistance to 64 beneficiaries who had relocated to remote regions, including Lori. Due to the increase in the number of beneficiaries and their concentration in the Lori region, we decided to consider providing medical and social support to them. In March, we initiated the process of assessing the need for pharmaceuticals. By the end of the month, we received approval and appropriate funding from the AWWA, enabling us to order the necessary pharmaceuticals and food products for our beneficiaries in the Lori marz at the beginning of April. The Hanganak team visited Vanadzor on April 6 to provide beneficiaries with the required medication, and food and conduct a survey to assess their needs.
During our visit to Vanadzor, we met with nine beneficiaries. It should be noted that the number of beneficiaries in the region is subject to change. Some of the 21 beneficiaries have moved to different cities in Armenia. One beneficiary relocated to Gyumri, while another beneficiary who was residing in Yerevan moved to Vanadzor. As a result, there are now 17 beneficiaries living in the Lori region, with 10 of them residing in Vanadzor, 4 in Alaverdi, and the remaining in nearby villages. We managed to use public transport on the same day to deliver food and medicine to all the beneficiaries we couldn’t meet during our visit. We’re planning our next visit to Alaverdi and the nearby villages.
