Psychological Group Sessions Gain New Momentum

On May 29, another psychological group counseling session was held with beneficiaries of Hanganak. The session was attended by our beneficiaries from both Yerevan and marzes.

Tikin Karine gladly participates in all of Hanganak’s events and never misses a session. She came from Hrazdan, while Tikin Iskuhi and Tikin Sinam arrived from Vanadzor. Hanganak staff also participated in the session with equal enthusiasm.

It’s evident that all forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh require psychological support. Psychotherapist Anahit Lalayan prepared an interesting topic for the session, and all participants took turns expressing themselves freely in their native language within this familiar environment.

After active discussions, beneficiaries began sharing their memories of Hanganak’s events. While the atmosphere and reality in Artsakh were completely different, the sense of Hanganak’s family-like warmth has been preserved in this new setting too. Participants recalled frequently organized excursions, hospitality events and concerts, requesting similar excursions be arranged in Armenia.

At the session’s conclusion, participants received homework for the next meeting and sincerely promised to complete it.

After the official end, beneficiaries lingered for a long time, continuing to talk with each other and sharing recent news and concerns.

At the beneficiaries’ request, we had ordered bedding supplies for May, with delivery coinciding with the psychological session. Beneficiaries were doubly pleased by this surprise. After receiving both food packages and bedding supplies, they returned home in good spirits.
