WELCOME TO HANGANAK NON-GOVERNMENTAL CHARITY ORGANIZATION
Dear Friends,
We warmly welcome you to the official website of Hanganak NGO!
Since November 29, 2004, Hanganak NGO—with the generous support of the Armenian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA-Inc.)—has been dedicated to serving isolated and impoverished elderly in Artsakh. For over 19 years, our program has addressed their most critical health and social needs through comprehensive care, including healthcare services, essential medications, monthly food supplies, social support and community connection.
We had provided life-changing assistance to over 1,000 vulnerable elders in Artsakh – offering not just survival, but dignity and hope.
In late September 2023, Artsakh’s entire population was forcibly displaced following a military offensive by Azerbaijan. This violent expulsion affected more than 100,000 people – including Hanganak’s staff and 320 elderly beneficiaries. These vulnerable seniors, whose families had called Artsakh home for generations, were compelled to abandon their ancestral homeland with little more than the clothes on their backs.
On October 25, 2023, Hanganak was officially registered in the Republic of Armenia as a non-governmental charity organization, allowing us to continue our vital mission in our new homeland. Through our website, you can explore the heartfelt stories of our beneficiaries – elderly individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh—and the profound challenges they now face. You’ll also discover our ongoing programs and initiatives designed to bring relief, dignity, and hope to these resilient individuals who have endured unimaginable hardships. We invite you to explore, learn, and join us in making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
On behalf of Hanganak’s beneficiaries, we express our deepest gratitude to all our friends and partners for their invaluable support in bringing hope and dignity to elderly individuals displaced from Artsakh. A special thanks to our main sponsor, the Armenian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA), for their unwavering dedication and generosity.
