At Hanganak, lifelong learning and mental wellbeing go hand in hand. Recently, we proudly launched a new initiative — English language classes for our beneficiaries.
The idea was born naturally, when several beneficiaries expressed their wish to learn English. This wonderful motivation was warmly supported by our volunteers, who organized the first class last week. Learning a new language is not only exciting — it also helps improve memory, attention, and cognitive functions, which is especially valuable for older adults.
The class was led by two of our young and dedicated volunteers, Anush Kasyan and Luiza Sargsyan, both high school students who generously share their knowledge and enthusiasm with the older generation. The beneficiaries participated with great excitement and are already looking forward to the next lesson!
After the class, everyone gathered in the kitchen to prepare a delicious and healthy beetroot salad with nuts and garlic. It was another joyful moment of teamwork, conversation, and intergenerational friendship — the essence of what Hanganak stands for.
Through such activities, Hanganak continues to create opportunities for learning, connection, and wellbeing — helping our elders stay active, engaged, and inspired.
