Health, Psychosocial, and Socioeconomic Conditions of Displaced Older Adults from Artsakh: A Comprehensive Assessment
Hanganak NGO is pleased to share the Baseline Assessment Report on the health, social, and socioeconomic conditions of older adults forcibly displaced from Artsakh and currently residing in Armenia.
Conducted between August and November 2025, this assessment provides a comprehensive overview of the lived realities of displaced older adults, including:
- Physical and mental health status
- Functional capacity and care needs
- Social connectivity and emotional support
- Housing and living conditions
- Financial vulnerability and priority needs
The assessment was carried out to inform evidence-based planning and delivery of community-based and home-care services, supported by the Armenian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) and implemented by Hanganak NGO. It establishes a critical baseline against which future program effectiveness and changes in well-being can be measured.
Findings highlight the combined impact of aging-related vulnerabilities and displacement-related stressors, underscoring the need for integrated health, psychosocial, social, and economic support for older displaced populations.
