Healthy Lifestyle at Hanganak: Learning Together About Fibrosis

At Hanganak, every Healthy Lifestyle workshop is much more than an educational session—it is an opportunity to learn, connect, and support one another. Our latest gathering, dedicated to fibrosis, once again demonstrated how meaningful these meetings have become for our beneficiaries.

The workshop was led by Dr. Liliya Seyranyan, who introduced participants to this important health topic in a clear, accessible, and compassionate way. She explained what fibrosis is, how it develops, and why it can affect different organs, including the lungs, liver, heart, and kidneys. Participants learned that fibrosis is a process in which normal tissue is gradually replaced by scar tissue, reducing the normal function of the affected organ. Dr. Seyranyan also spoke about the importance of early diagnosis, regular medical follow-up, a healthy lifestyle, and proper management of chronic diseases to help reduce the risk of complications and improve quality of life.

The discussion quickly became lively and interactive. Our beneficiaries listened with great interest, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their own experiences and concerns. Many appreciated the opportunity to better understand a condition they had heard about but knew very little about. The atmosphere was one of trust, curiosity, and mutual respect, allowing everyone to feel comfortable participating in the conversation.

One of the most valuable aspects of these workshops is the sense of togetherness they create. Beyond learning about health, participants encourage one another, exchange experiences, and discover that many of their challenges are shared. These moments strengthen social connections and remind everyone that they are not facing life’s difficulties alone.

Following the educational session, everyone gathered around the table to enjoy tea and coffee while continuing their conversations in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Laughter, warm conversations, and genuine smiles filled the room as participants spent time together, strengthening friendships and building an even stronger sense of community.

At Hanganak, we believe that healthy aging is about much more than preventing disease. It is about creating opportunities to learn, remain active, and feel connected to others. Every workshop reminds us that knowledge empowers, but kindness, companionship, and a sense of belonging are equally important for living a healthier and happier life.

We are grateful to our beneficiaries for their active participation and enthusiasm, and to Dr. Liliya Seyranyan for once again sharing her knowledge with such professionalism and care. Together, we continue building a community where learning, compassion, and friendship go hand in hand.
