Psychological group therapy at Hanganak continues to offer our beneficiaries a safe and supportive space for reflection, dialogue, and emotional growth. The latest session took place in the format of a movie screening, followed by an open and thoughtful discussion.
The film focused on psychological challenges faced by an HIV-positive mother and the impact of her condition on family relationships. While the topic was not directly connected to the main concerns of our beneficiaries, it was chosen intentionally — to show that people around the world face many different kinds of struggles. What truly matters is not the problem itself, but the strength, understanding, and compassion with which people learn to overcome it.
The participants watched the movie with great interest and shared their impressions openly. The discussion that followed encouraged empathy, broader perspective, and reflection on resilience, acceptance, and human dignity.
Our volunteers also took part in the session, treating beneficiaries with tea and coffee and helping create a warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. The beneficiaries especially appreciated the opportunity to connect with the younger generation, noting how these moments of interaction bring joy, energy, and a sense of closeness.
At Hanganak, we believe that psychological support goes beyond addressing personal pain — it also helps broaden horizons, strengthen empathy, and remind us that we are all connected through shared human experiences.
