Several beneficiaries and staff members of Hanganak NGO participated in the Artsakh Support Café program, funded by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) and implemented by Alzheimer’s Care Armenia. The 12-week program provides psychosocial support to elderly individuals (aged 60 and above) who were forcibly displaced from Artsakh.
Through music, art therapy, cognitive-enhancement activities, and group physical exercises, specialists helped improve participants’ mental well-being, self-confidence, and social integration.
The program ran for three months, with weekly two-hour sessions. Alzheimer’s Care Armenia continues to offer the program to other displaced elderly from Artsakh, while Hanganak’s beneficiaries receive psychological support at the “Empatia” Mental Health Center in a culturally familiar Artsakh environment.
