A Library Opening Filled with Light, Books, and Togetherness

A truly meaningful and heartwarming event brought our community together at the Empathy Foundation, where a new library was officially opened — a space that promises to become a home for knowledge, reflection, and connection.

We were deeply honored that Hanganak’s beneficiaries and staff were invited as an integral part of this special day. Being present not only as guests, but as a vital part of the community, made the occasion even more touching and significant for all of us.

The opening beautifully coincided with Book Giving Day — a day in Armenia dedicated to sharing books and celebrating the power of reading. It felt symbolic that on a day when books are gifted with love, a new library opened its doors, offering stories, ideas, and hope to everyone.

One of the most memorable moments of the event was the participation of Susanna Tioyan, whose presence added both intellectual depth and heartfelt warmth to the gathering. She presented her book to the audience, speaking about language, identity, and the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. With generosity and kindness, she donated copies of her book to the new library and gifted copies to members of our group — a gesture that deeply moved everyone present.

Books are more than pages and words. They are memory. They are identity. They are bridges between generations. For our beneficiaries — many of whom carry stories of displacement, resilience, and hope — this new library represents not only access to literature, but a renewed sense of belonging and continuity.

The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with sincerity, smiles, and quiet inspiration. Conversations flowed naturally, people browsed the shelves with curiosity, and there was a shared feeling that something meaningful had begun.

As always, the gathering concluded in the warmest way — around a table with tea and coffee. Participants shared impressions, exchanged thoughts, and continued their conversations in an atmosphere of comfort and togetherness. These simple, heartfelt moments once again reminded us that community is built not only through events, but through connection.

The opening of this library was not just the inauguration of a room filled with books. It was the opening of a new chapter — one written with hope, generosity, and shared spirit.
