The Network for Social Protection and Care for Older People was established on 27 January 2016 through a Memorandum of Understanding developed jointly by Armenian Red Cross Society, Caritas Armenia, Mission Armenia, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. Member organizations committed to protecting older people’s rights, improving quality of life, ensuring social inclusion and enhancing access to health and social services.
In 2024, Hanganak applied for membership. After review by the coordinating body (Armenian Red Cross Society) during their October 2024 meeting, we received official membership confirmation in 2025. Recently we received an official invitation to participate in the Network’s first 2025 meeting as a full member.
The Association of Healthcare and Assistance to Older People currently serves as coordinating body (since 2025). At the first 2025 meeting, participants discussed:
- Collaboration with state institutions
- Grant mechanisms
- Network charter updates
- Regulatory frameworks
The session concluded with the introduction of two new member organizations:
- Hanganak NGO
- Alzheimer’s Care Armenia
Network members warmly welcomed the new partners.
