Hanganak Team Attends Lecture by Nancy Barsamian

On September 18, 2025, members of Hanganak’s medical team participated in a lecture delivered by Dr. Nancy A. Barsamian, assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine.

Seven members of our staff attended the event, including our Elderly Project physician Dr. Lilya Seyranyan and Project coordinator Lina Grigoryan.

The lecture, titled “Patient Safety Starts with Nursing: Understanding Quality Indicators in Healthcare,” addressed a topic of great importance for our team—especially for our nurses. The knowledge and skills gained will help them further strengthen their role in ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for our beneficiaries.

Dr. Barsamian has been closely collaborating with Hanganak since 2020, leading clinical projects and supporting the professional development of our medical staff. Under her leadership, online training courses were launched for Hanganak’s physicians and nurses, and her active involvement in the Elderly Project has brought significant improvements to the quality of services we provide. As a nursing specialist, she has played a key role in expanding the role of nurses within the project, inspiring them to approach their work with renewed enthusiasm and confidence that their care can truly improve the lives of our beneficiaries.

This latest lecture was both an enriching professional exchange and a continuation of a longstanding collaboration that has deeply shaped our team. We were also honored to meet with Dr. Barsamian in 2024, a visit that reaffirmed the importance of continuous learning.

At Hanganak, we believe that every opportunity to learn from leading experts like Dr. Nancy Barsamian directly strengthens our capacity to serve older adults with professionalism, compassion, and dignity.
