The “Hanganak” Non-Governmental Charity Organization, in collaboration with the “Empathy” Mental Health Center, continues to provide psychological services to beneficiaries—the elders forcibly displaced from Artsakh. These services are offered through individual consultations via home visits and group sessions held in the spacious hall of the “Empathy” Mental Health Center.
On May 7, another psychological group session took place, led by Dr. Anahit Lalayan, the head of the Center and a psychologist specializing in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With extensive experience in addressing trauma among the elderly, Dr. Lalayan employs effective strategies to achieve optimal results.
The session extended beyond the planned two hours, lasting more than two and a half hours. The participants were highly engaged and willing to discuss various concerns. They were assigned homework to prepare for discussion at the next meeting. After the session, all participants lingered in the office, engaging in conversation, sharing memories, discussing the latest news, and addressing their concerns.
The next meeting is scheduled for May 28.
